Frequently Asked Questions

Do I have to pay a deposit and if so how much?
Yes, a deposit is required to secure a wedding date booking upon signing and returning the contract. This is to secure the date and to ensure nobody else can take it. With weddings being booked so far in advance this helps me manage my diary and make sure no other bookings can have that date. How much will depend on what service you are looking to book. With commercial and event bookings I also take a deposit which is to be discussed alongside the specific quote given.

What is your turnaround time?
Depending on the nature of the works carried out and the type of event this can vary. For weddings (PHOTOGRAPHY ONLY) I normally give a guide of between 6-8 weeks. Sometimes this is sooner depending on the time of year and how busy the season is. I like to give my couples a small preview of the final gallery (around 5 - 10 photos) within a week of shooting the event. Wedding films/highlight videos are a minimum of 8 week turnaround. Commercial works and brand work deadlines can be discussed to suit your needs.

Do you shoot video?
The answer is, YES. This is a relatively new service I have decided to add and I will be uploading more examples of my work in the near future. I am now offering wedding film packages and can provide corporate/commercial/event films.

What equipment do you use?
As I am a bit of a gear nerd I am constantly upgrading/adding to my equipment collection but right now my weapons of choice are:
x2 Sony A7iii’s
Sony 24-70 GM
Zeiss 55mm 1.8

I also use a range of flash’s and video lighting if natural light isn’t on our side!

Do you do prints?
Again, this is something new I am trialling out so please let me know if prints are of importance to you and we can discuss prices etc in more detail.

What is an ‘Engagement Shoot’?
A free engagement shoot is included in all of my wedding packages and it is an opportunity for me to meet the couple and grab some photos of you both before the big day. This helps you both to relax around the camera and a chance for us to have a laugh and a get together before the wedding.

How would you describe your style?
I would describe my style as an arty & cinematic spin on traditional photography. I capture weddings and events in a very discreet manor to capture the natural story of the day and raw emotions. I like to make my working relationship with my clients much like a friendship so its fun for everyone involved - thus delivering the best results possible.

Do you do group shots?
Yes I do. Prior to the wedding I like to discuss with the couple the run down of the day and allocate a time best suited to get everyone together. As much as I aim to capture as many of your wedding guests as possible in a candid manor, often the group shots is an excellent to to get everyone together to ensure they are in your wedding album. As far as group shots go I always advise my couples to give me a list of 10 (max) to save causing too much distraction and taking too much time away from the special day.

Can you photoshop my chins out?
I get asked this a lot, because we all have our insecurities. The pre-wedding meet/engagement shoot will be a perfect opportunity to discuss with me your ‘best side’ or angles you’re not so keen on and I will try to adhere to this as much as possible, however some situations and photo opportunities are unavoidable and I strive to capture special moments AS THEY HAPPEN, as I believe that’s a lot more important than worrying if ‘my bum looks big in this’. I will provide a basic level of retouching for the best outcome of the photograph (spot removal, skin softening) to give you a polished finish however additional retouching will come at a further cost.

Can you send me the RAW files?
Nope, I’m afraid not. No photographer will provide you with these. Reason for this is because you have booked ME because you trust in my work and are interested in my style (I hope!) and therefore providing RAW files for you to edit yourselves would not be an accurate representation of what I do. I colour correct and process the images to the best possible finish to suit my ‘style’. I mean … you wouldn’t go to a restaurant and ask if you could cook it yourself right!?

Do you shoot on your own?
Where possible, yes. I have photographed many weddings on my own and I like to do that to keep the costs down for the client where I can. However, when undertaking a photo & video job I always bring a second shooter with me so no moment gets missed. Second shooters are also an additional extra I offer with wedding photography, at an additional cost. I have a team of approved second shooters who are absolutely fantastic at what they do!
